On cloudy or rainy days, charging may be minimal. However, the built-in rechargeable battery stores enough power to keep your Canisteo cellular shade running for extended periods. If sunlight is lacking for several days, you can simply top up the shade using the USB charging cable.

We recommend installing it on windows that receive direct sunlight, such as south-, east-, or west-facing windows. North-facing windows may not provide enough natural light to maintain the charge. If your cellular shade is installed on a north-facing window, using the USB charger as a backup is recommended.

Mount it inside the window, either directly on the glass using the included adhesive, or on the window frame with the mounting brackets. Make sure the panel is positioned where the cellular fabric will not cover, fold over, or block it when the shade is fully lowered.

This panel is designed for indoor use only and is not waterproof. It should not be exposed to rain or moisture. If you need an outdoor solution for your window treatments, please choose our weather-resistant outdoor solar panel instead.

Charging time depends on the intensity of sunlight. On a sunny day with direct exposure, the panel will charge efficiently. The panel continuously tops up the battery during the day, reducing the need for manual charging and keeping your cellular shade ready for operation.

No. Each Canisteo Indoor Solar Panel is designed as a dedicated 1-to-1 charging solution for a single shade. The panel's output is calibrated to match one motor's battery and power draw. For two shades, we recommend using one solar panel per shade for optimal performance.
