Canisteo Motorized Drapery

It has texture and body, not that flat poly feel. It photographs rich without trying.

Any curtain hangs. What these do well is drape, the fabric pools softly and the pleats stay full instead of going limp. On a tall window that matters, because thin curtains look sad at the floor. Mine reach the floor with a small break and look like the designer photos. The motor handles the length without dragging or bunching. We grouped both panels so they open together, which makes a wide slider feel intentional. The fabric is a relaxed weave that softens harsh afternoon light nicely. Setup took an afternoon with simple steps and no drama.

For two years the slider curtain was a source of small daily resentment, a rod that needed re hanging every few months, a cord I kept re tying, panels that never met in the middle no matter how I pulled, and the way they looked, flat and sad against all that glass. On a slow Saturday I finally replaced the whole thing with these. The difference is the kind you feel before you can name it. The panels fall in deep folds, they meet cleanly in the center with no light gap, they stack to the side in soft columns that make the yard part of the room, and they reach the floor with a gentle break instead of floating above it. The motor moves all that weight slow and even and the soft close settles the room like a curtain at a theater, which my partner and I both quietly love. We put it on a schedule, open for morning light, closed before the streetlights, and one command runs the whole wall, no more lopsided panels. The cordless build is safe for the kids and the valance hides the housing so it reads like built ins. The first pairing was one careful evening and it held for months. Setup was simple, brackets and a level, a Saturday well spent. The thing I resented every day is now the thing I point out when people visit.

The panels look fantastic and the motor is smooth, but across my extra wide slider the very top edge of the closed panels bows in a little so a thin line of light shows at the ceiling line. It is minor and only at the top, the room looks great and the function is solid. Worth noting for a very wide wall.

The motor glides the panels open without a sound. My cat no longer attacks a cord because there is none. Setup took me under ten minutes. Very happy with how clean the track looks.
